How to Set Up Remote Access to MySQL in the DirectAdmin Control Panel

In this article, we provide you instructions for creating MySQL databases and connecting users.

When you authorize in the control panel, go to the Account Manager section → MySQL Management:

Next, to set up a remote connection, click the database name for which the setting up process will be performed (in our example, it’s ‘phhrfzhi_basename’):

In the Access Hosts block, there’s a possibility to add:

  • IP for which access will be available;
  • Network for which access will be available;
  • Open remote access to all.

For localhost, access is available by default. To open remote access, you need to enter the IP address or network in the field for editing and click the Add New button:

The % character is used for all acceptable values.

For instance, let’s open access to:

  • Everyone (%);
  • Everyone in the network 192.168.0.0/24 (192.168.0.%);
  • Only for IP 192.168.0.1:

The changes come into effect right after they have been added.
