If you run out of disk space in one of your server units, it may have a negative influence on the performance of your server, your websites, and databases.

For instance, if you don’t have space in the /var unit, it will negatively influence your database and, as a consequence, the overall performance of your site.

If you run out of space in other units like /usr, /tmp or /home, you will also have issues with your websites’ performance and file download on the hosting via FTP and so on.

If you’ve run out of disk space on your server, first thing you need to check whether there are unnecessary files in the /home/ folder of your site. If you find no files, then you need to check the size of logs on the server; because logs can often take up a lot of space and influence the disk space of the server.

If you use the cPanel control panel, the ways to logs are as follows: /usr/local/apache/logs/, /var/log/, /home/username/public_html/error_log

If you use Plesk, the ways to the logs are as follows: /etc/httpd/logs/, /var/log, /var/www/vhosts/domain/logs/
